#74 LIECHTENSTEIN

Tiny Liechtenstein, sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria, is a jewel of the Alps. Often overlooked, this country is a skier and foodie paradise, but it doesn't come cheap! If you're on a short trip, I recommend staying in Triesenberg instead of Vaduz, especially if you want to be just minutes away from the ski basin. It's an ideal place to lounge away a few days eating steak tartare surrounded by snowy mountain views. Don't miss out on the executive lunch at Michelin-starred Restaurant Torkel either -- a truly excellent (and slightly more affordable...) meal in this Alpine kingdom!
