#91 CANADA

OK, so I used to get a lot of heat for traveling around the world and never making it to the US's closest neighbor, but in January 2019, I braved the cold and finally visited the great white north! Vancouver was the destination, and eating was the activity!

From Marutama ramen to Kingyo Izakaya, I gorged on amazing Japanese food at every turn. And then there were JAPADOGS! Japanese style hotdogs of Kurobuta pork sausage served on a brioche bun with sauteed onions, mayo, tonkatsu sauce, and shredded nori. It might sound like an exaggeration, but I've never eaten a hotdog any other way since!

Apart from the food, Vancouver was just a genuinely nice city too. Nestled on the Pacific coast and surrounded by mountains it’s a slice of urban life with crisp nature. Vancouver might be my new favorite north American city, and for sure a place I'm eager to take our family for more delicious food adventures and outdoor activities!
