Mali is one of my favorite countries and a big part of why I fell in love with West Africa! Despite what you might hear in the media, the reality on the ground is that this part of the world has a super relaxed vibe, scorching hot weather, and some seriously underappreciated cuisine!
Bamako isn't the most attractive city I've been to, but it is nestled on the Niger River and has more than enough exciting streets, restaurants, markets, and cafes to keep a tourist busy for days! There's also some excellent Chinese food in the city, and I mean seriously good, like the best I'd had since
Taiwan! So here are some of my best travel pictures from Mali, and if I haven't convinced you to visit yet, hopefully, my food porn photos will!
