#114 LUXEMBOURG

Drizzly weather and grey skies are the norm in Luxembourg, but it was still a great place to visit with a very fun and diverse vibe! We visited over my birthday, which also coincided with the Advent season, and the whole capital city was bustling with outdoor markets offering food, drinks, games, rides, and all sorts of Christmas knick-knacks.
So far, this was definitely the most magical Christmas vibe I’ve experienced firsthand in Europe, which makes sense as this little country is nestled between Belgium, France, and Germany. We spent our days here taking our daughter on vintage carousels, eating pastries and chocolates, and sneaking in the occasional cup of spatzel from street vendors.
It was also my birthday weekend, so I booked a lunch for us at a local brasserie called “Um Dierfgen,” where we indulged in hearty plates of pork shoulder and horse steak along with crisp white wine and buttery escargot. And, while it’s a little out of the way to go for such dreary weather, I wouldn’t turn down another opportunity to visit this cute little country in the wintertime!
