#88 SWEDEN

If you've read some of my other blog posts, you'll likely recall that I have a delightful Swedish friend, Julia, who I met in Kabul at the end of 2016. Since then, we had many great adventures together in Mauritius and Côte d'Ivoire, but in the summer of 2018, I finally decided to visit her native country, so I promptly invited myself to stay with her in Stockholm for a few days!

As this was my first time in Sweden, we made sure to hit all the major attractions, including the ABBA museum, Gamla Stan to pick up a reindeer pelt, some department stores to buy sweaters (it was summer in Sweden, after all!), and a fantastic city tour on Scandinavia's first amphibious Ocean Bus

Along the way, we ate a lot of food - mostly sushi and Thai because it's everywhere - but also many local delicacies like kräfta (crayfish) at Sturehof, meatballs and reindeer at Pelican Restaurant, and an unlucky 200-year-old clam at Michelin starred Oaxen Krog & Slip.
