I've been writing a lot about some other countries recently, so for a change of pace, here's a very brief entry on Bosnia and Herzegovina, a lovely little country I visited only once, for about 20 minutes.
It was 2014, and I traveled overland through the Balkans from Istanbul, Turkey, to Split, Croatia. We knew that Bosnia and Herzegovina was deserving of more time than we had, so we decided to skip it now and save it for the future instead. But then, on one fateful bus ride from Dubrovnik to Split, we unexpectedly stopped in the little seaside town of Neum on Bosnia and Herzegovina's 20-km-long Adriatic riviera. And when I say we stopped, I mean it was a bathroom break at an Orka Supermarket rest stop that we extended into a coffee break complete with a cigarette. So, one last puff and back on the bus, hello and goodbye all at once, little Bosnia and Herzegovina!
